Privacy Policies
Last updated on May 07, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how privacy expectations differ between the mobile app, the researcher web portal, and study operations. Asdat LLC, located in Seattle, Washington, USA, delivers these services.
- Mobile app (Android): To provide scheduling, app blocking, usage reports, and study features, the app may collect application usage data (which apps run and for how long), device and technical information (for example device model, OS version, language), and configuration you set (schedules, rules, preferences). For research workflows, data may be transmitted to authorized study infrastructure. The in-app Privacy Policy shown inside the app describes collection, use, sharing, aggregated research use, children’s privacy, and contact details in more detail.
- Researcher web portal: Authorized researchers use our platform to configure studies, view analytics, and manage participants. Researcher account and study data are processed to operate the service. Participant records may include pseudonymous identifiers and, where enrollment requires it, information such as phone numbers stored using encryption for operational purposes (for example matching uploads and push notifications).
- Third-party services: We may use providers such as cloud hosting, push notifications (for example Firebase Cloud Messaging), and advertising or measurement technologies where enabled in the app. Those providers process data under their own terms and policies.
- Permissions required (Android manifest): The app declares permissions including INTERNET; RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED; PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS; FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE; READ_PHONE_STATE and READ_PHONE_NUMBERS; SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (display over other apps) for lock-screen behavior; VIBRATE; MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS; POST_NOTIFICATIONS; ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY; REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS; QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES; REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES; optional fingerprint-related permissions where biometric unlock is used; and device administration where that feature is enabled. Exact prompts depend on your Android version and features you turn on.
- Data protection: We use safeguards designed to protect data in transit and at rest, including TLS for network communication where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
