Objective smartphone usage data for empirical research.
Smartphone-related research is currently hampered by the lack of readily-available and objectively-measured phone usage data. To address this gap and to increase empirical research on smartphone-human interaction, we have developed a research tool, called Apps Scheduler, to collect objective phone usage data in a straightforward manner. It is based on phone sensing and experience sampling methodologies.
We are sharing this tool and making it free-to-use for all researchers. It comprises a mobile application (AS phone) and a web application (AS web), available for Android and iOS phones in the Google Play Store and App Store (coming soon).
